A Letter from the Founder
I am 76 years old — a father, grandfather, uncle, and the oldest living man in my family. After decades in human services, community organizing, and entrepreneurship, I am launching what I believe is my life’s most important work: The Elderpreneur’s Forum. My mission is not merely to survive these later years but to thrive — and to help others do the same — with passion, compassion, humor, and style.
My journey began in the 1970s, working in human services across communities and cultures from around the world. I have counseled, advised, taught, organized, followed and led — always in service of others. But I have also known loss. Twice in my life I lost nearly everything — family, home, career, wealth, even my health. In those moments, what saved me was the very path I had devoted my life to: helping others. That path of survival, healing, and reinvention has become the heart of this Forum.
Baruch once said: “Find a need and fill it.” The need is clear: millions of elders are living longer, yet many feel left behind — financially, emotionally, socially. We need new pathways to sufficiency, dignity, and joy. The answer I’ve found is elderpreneurism — using our skills, wisdom, and creativity to build sustainable ventures and purposeful lives.
The Forum is not just my story — it’s meant to be our shared space of possibility. A community where elders help one another thrive through four pillars: Health & Well-Being, Financial Sufficiency, Community & Connection, and Purpose (Ikigai).
I see a vibrant, interactive community of elderpreneurs: supporting, challenging, and celebrating each other. A place where possibility becomes real. The Elderpreneur’s Forum is about more than business — it’s about building a future where elders thrive, contribute, and live with joy, harmony, and love.
“My mission in life is not merely to survive, but to thrive, and to do so with some passion, some compassion, some humor, and some style.” — Maya Angelou
I invite you to be part of this founding movement. Let’s put the gold into our golden years — together.
